2017 CrossFit Open & Sweat Shop Intramural Teams

Jenny during one of last year’s CrossFit Open workouts

The 2017 CrossFit Open is right around the corner!  While the first workout won’t be released until Feb. 23rd., registration is already open.  While it’s always a fun and exciting time of year at the Sweat Shop, this year I’m planning on making it even more fun.  We’ll take everyone from the Sweat Shop that is participating in the Open and divide them into several teams.  Then during each of the 5 weeks points will be awarded to each time for not only top performances, but points will also be awarded based on how many people from each team simply complete the workouts, that way participation is important, not just top performances.  And for those that have never done the Open don’t worry, scaling options are also available for the workouts!

Now, here’s what I’m asking of you, if you are going to do the Open, please sign up as soon as possible, this way we can go ahead and setup the teams and make them as even as possible.  To sign up for the Open click here.  When registering, select CrossFit Sweat Shop as your affiliate, as well as, select Team Sweat Shop as your team.  For those of you that have already signed up, go onto your athlete profile and select Team Sweat Shop as your team.  This way we can see who all has signed up, and we’ll then use that list to select our intramural teams.  Lastly, don’t forget about our Open workouts that we are doing with CrossFit Walnut Creek over the next 4 weeks.  The next workout is this Thursday evening, 7pm at the Sweat Shop.

The workout is CrossFit Open 11.4
10 min. AMRAP
60 Bar Facing Burpees
30 Overhead Squats 120/90
10 Muscle Ups

Scaling options will be available as well.

    Hey Nabil,
The team idea is a good one. Lones and I both signed up for the Open, I chose Sweatshop as the affiliate, but I’m not sure if I signed us up on the team. Didn’t see in my Crossfit Games account where this could be done. Let me know if there is anything else I need to do. Thanks. MB
