Cristina first began coaching in 2011 as a gymnastics coach. She developed a special passion for teaching developmental groups, seeing how building a strong basic foundation allowed gymnasts to go as far as they desired in the sport.
Cristina graduated with a Bachelors of Science from Cal Poly Pomona in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Health Promotion. During her time at Cal Poly Pomona she was introduced to strength and conditioning, interning at EXOs Human Performance company. Cristina also currently works in Orthotics and Prosthetics where she enjoys building relationships with patients and giving them tools to improve their movement quality.
Cristina believes that building community and coaching a person holistically are important pillars at Crossfit Sweat Shop. Cristina never thought that she would be a “crossfitter”. However, when she started at Crossfit Sweat Shop, she saw that performing basic quality movement patterns and appropriate programming were emphasized.
She fell in love with CrossFit knowing that Sweat Shop coaches could help improve performance all while having a lot of fun!
