- Health and Lifestyle Educator
Matt been a sports and fitness enthusiast his entire life. From his early roots as a competitive swimmer and captain of his high school swim team, movement and exercise have been a constant for him. Crossfit, tennis, hiking, lifting, swimming, climbing, yoga… he is into anything that provides a physical challenge, friendly competition, or an opportunity to connect with the primal self. He loves sharing his passion for movement with people, whether it’s with the CrossFit athletes he coaches, the clients he works with individually, or his own friends and family.
Matt did his first Crossfit workout ever at Crossfit Sweatshop over fifteen years ago. Even though it was a one-off he could tell how special it was—the combination of intensity, competition, excitement, and fun was like nothing he had ever experienced. Things finally came full circle and he has been a full-fledged member of the Sweatshop community for the last two years. He has loved every minute of it so far, getting to train with incredible athletes, make new friends, and coach the best gym people he has ever met.
Over the decade-plus that he has worked in the health sphere, Matt’s focus has shifted more and more to nutrition and lifestyle. He is the author of a nutrition blog, an eating guide focused on simple dietary habits, and has several other projects in the works for the future. He believes in the “spectrum” approach to fitness and he will take any opportunity to educate people on the importance of sleep, stress levels, daily movement outside of exercise, and a diet built around whole, natural foods.
Matt is passionate about helping others build healthier lives through movement, mindful habits, and a balanced approach to fitness and nutrition.
