Cally has always had an active lifestyle from competing in high school sports, running, and weight training. She first started CrossFit in 2012 and immediately fell in love with it. She has competed in multiple CrossFit Opens as well as local competitions. She became a member at CrossFit Sweat Shop in 2017 when she moved to California from Ohio and has enjoyed being a part of the community ever since.
Cally graduated with her Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing in 2013 from The University of Akron. She has had the opportunity to work in a wide variety of nursing roles from a rehabilitation center to a neurology unit. She is currently a surgical nurse and is passionate about helping others overcome and heal from injury and disease. Although Cally is a part of healing patients in the medical field, she believes exercise and nutrition are an integral part of leading a healthy lifestyle to prevent illness and disease.
Cally’s passion for caring for others in surgery has lead her to coaching. She wanted to play a more active role in improving peoples’ health and fitness outside of the medical setting. She believes CrossFit is an effective exercise program because it can be adjusted to be fun and challenging, regardless someone’s experience level. She’s confident that her combined knowledge of CrossFit and nursing can provide a unique, enjoyable, and rewarding workout to those she coaches!
