The CrossFit Competition for those that suck at CrossFit

When: Saturday October 22, 2022
Where: CrossFit Sweat Shop, Walnut Creek, CA

Details:

Teams of two will compete in a 3-round single elimination tournament
Partners can split work however they choose
Round 1 will be the full version of "Linda" 10-9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1
Deadlift 1.5x Body Weight
Bench Press 1x Body Weight
Clean .75x Body Weight
Round 2 will be a speed round 10-8-6-4-2 (same weights as above)
Final Round will be same as Round 1
Barbell weight will be determined by taking the average body weight of the two partners
Each partner must complete at least 1 rep of each exercise
$50/team Registration Fee - Winner Takes Entire Registration Proceeds

Q&A

  • What if my partner is heavier than I am?
    • You’re partner has it easy.  You should get stronger, find a different partner, or don’t do the comp.
  • Are they power cleans or squat cleans?
    • Your choice
  • Isn’t the original Linda done with squat cleans?
    • Again, you’re welcome to do squat cleans
  • Are co-ed teams allowed?
    • Yes
  • Is there a separate division for women, co-ed, masters, scaled, scaled masters co-ed?
    • No
  • If the winning team takes the entire registration proceeds, and assuming credit card transaction fees and the time you are putting in, isn’t it costing you money to hold this event?
    • Yes.  Keep that in mind when you get upset that your volunteer judge just no repped you.
  • What if I can’t do double unders?
    • This is the comp for you
  • My elbows don’t fully extend when I bench press, you cool with that?
    • Nope.  Find a different comp that allows partial ROM.
