More Than A Place To Workout

,

I am overwhelmed by the generosity, support and camaraderie this community has shown this past week. Within a few days, the office was filled to the brim with donations for those effected by the Napa / Santa Rosa fires. It’s times like these that I am truly thankful we are part of a community that is so much more than just a place to workout. The Sweat Shop family is abundantly generous, caring and selfless. Words cannot begin to describe my gratitude, but I’ll start with a Thank You!! Your generous hearts helped many in need. While dropping off your donations, I was thanked by a mom and her two small children who were left with nothing left from the fire. As they begin to repopulate areas that were evacuated, our thoughts and prayers are with them. Many have no clue what they will be going “home” to. My heart breaks for them.

Out of these tragedies, there is something really special happening in our community right now. People all over are banding together to help one another. In the face of hopelessness, there is hope. My husband Kyle, still away on the Santa Rosa fire, is echoing the same thing. He’s been on many fires in his day, and never before has he experienced such love, selflessness and support from the community on this fire.

Thank you again to each and every one of you who donated in this time of need. Also, thank you to Dragon with One Tribe Martial Arts for collecting donations at his studio; Mike Brazil, for hauling a HUGE load up to Napa; and Desi Auto Repair next door for brining over a generous monetary donation.

If you are still looking for a way to contribute, a firefighter friend from Santa Rosa sent me this website. 100% of funds raised go directly to the firefighters who’ve lost everything. Thank you, and God bless.

So fortunate to have such awesome members. We always come together at times of need. The amount of compassion, empathy, support, and love that our gym has for one another and others is amazing❤️

Rene, thank you so much all around. I missed the boat but I work at Union Bank and our Foundation has already committed over $100,000 to the Red Cross for rapid response and to the local community foundations in Napa and Sonoma Counties for the long term rebuild and was looking for a way to provide direct support to the firefighters. So thank you and I will pass along the site you suggested. Thanks for everything!
