Master’s Qualifiers Complete!

Congrats to our masters who completed the second stage of qualifying for the CrossFit Games! At the conclusion of the Open, Helen, Mo, Jacqueline, Lisa, and Lones all finished in the top 200 worldwide and earned a chance to qualify for the CF Games through 4 workouts in the Master’s Qualifiers. The four workouts were announced last Thursday and each had until Monday to complete them and submit their scores. All of our ladies did amazing! Each new year, CFHQ always raises the bar for the masters and this year was no different, requiring all levels to do muscle ups, unassisted HSPU, and DEFICIT HSPU! It was super fun to watch all our ladies kill it and makes all of us coaches proud to see what they overcame and battled through this this long season. The camaraderie was special and each cheered each other on in support. Here’s a little snap of each!

Helen (40-44)
Helen went into qualifiers 186th in the world and after the 4 workouts, improved to 112th. A huge improvement! She cruised through the muscle up chipper and got 11 muscle ups which gave her her best finish of 71st. She also smashed through the C2B/STO workout which was solid redemption from last year’s qualifier she had to do with an injured shoulder! She took 77th on that! Great work Helen, on to a strong 2018!

Mo (45-49)
This was Mo’s 3rd qualifier and first done as a Sweat Shopper. After finishing 98th in the Open, she improved to 80th in the world after the four grueling workouts. She finished best on the heavy squat clean/t2b chipper (55th world wide) which showcased how much her strength has improved in addition to her already strong engine. She also blasted through the C2B workout at took 66th place. What’s truly impressive is that Mo did all Open and Qualifier workouts once, as well as being the oldest age in the division, al while finishing in top 80 worldwide! Great job, Mo, cant wait for what next year has in store for you!

Jacqueline (50-54)
Jacqueline, also competing at the oldest age in her division fighting amongst the younger wave of competitors, killed the qualifiers. She came into the qualifiers 6th in the world and improved to 5th when it was all said done. She earned her THIRD CrossFit Games appearance in a row and is 3 for 3 on attempts! Crazy impressive. Her progress showed on each of the workouts like the pull-up workout, got a ton of muscle ups, but her best effort was taking 1st in the world on the deficit HSPU workout! Great work, Jacqueline! See you in Madison!

Lisa (55-59)
This was Lisa’s first Open and Qualifiers in the new age group and after taking time off of competition last year. She did amazing and it was awesome to see her smash on double unders after dealing with nagging foot injuries the past couple years. She came into the Qualifiers ranked 142nd in the world and improved to 130th. Lisa ranked best in the pull-up workout finishing 98th! Many of you know how hard she has been working at linking her pull-ups and it was truly awesome to watch all the hard work pay off! Can’t wait to see you crush it again next year, Lisa!

Lones 60+
Our first-ever Games athlete, Lones, had an outstanding year. She battled through knee and shoulder injuries throughout the season and still made a strong finish. She ended up 46th in the world and had awesome performances on the DB snatch chipper and took 31st in the world on the pullup/shoulder to overhead workout. She, like Lisa has been working hard at her pull-ups and it was great to see her get some redemption on a movement that use to be tough for her! Great work, Lones, you are an inspiration to us all and we hope to be as badass as you at 63! Keep it up!

Shout out some love to your badbass masters ladies in the comments! You can check out the full leaderboard of results here.
