By now, most of you already know that Bri will be representing the Sweat Shop in San Diego this weekend…for the 3rd time! Be sure to check her out here!

Anyway, most of you have only gotten a chance to see Bri in action whenever she competes. Usually that would be during regionals, local competitions, or during the open. But her competition mode is only a little piece of Bri that we all get to witness. I’m here to tell you about the work she puts in behind the scenes.

I’ve been fortunate to have started training with Bri for about 3 years now. We would stay after noon classes and get some extra lifts in, do another metcon, or both! That’s pretty much when JB came up with our “unsustainable gainz” nickname. Working hard, but always having fun was our motto! Anyway, over the past 3 years I’ve seen the amount of work Bri has put in when no one is looking. And trust me, it has to do with a lot of working out by herself. Trying to program heavy metcons for ourselves, learning how to handstand walk, over prescribed workouts…talk about trial and error! But she loved it all and wanted more! Some may think that all she does is just train all day, but I’m here to tell you that is not the case. Between waking up at 5am to train her clients, coaching throughout the day, finding time to grow as an athlete in this sport, and still making it home to cook chicken for Marcus is nothing short of impressive. I know I wouldn’t be able to hang! Most importantly, what makes Bri…Bri, hasn’t change since 3 years ago. She’s still always walking into the gym with a smile and leaving with an even bigger smile. She’s still always cheering people on, offering advice, and looking out for others. So for this weekend, lets make sure she can here our cheers all the way down in So. Cal!

So Bri, I speak for all the coaches when I say, we are not only proud of you making Regionals but we’re proud with how humble you’ve stayed throughout the process over the past few years. And I know I speak for your Sweat Shop Family when I say we will be proud of you no matter what happens this weekend! We all know you’ll represent us in the best way possible. Keep grinding, but remember to have fun just like the old days! Good Luck Breezy, and here’s a quick message from us at the Sweat Shop…

Bri is awesome! I remember her when she first came to the Sweat Shop she was intimidating cause she was such a bad ass, but I have come to learn that she has a warming personality and a huge heart. It has been a pleasure to coach her, train with her, and watch her grow as an athlete. And I love the point about putting in work when no ones looking, she has been attacking all of her workouts every single day. Good luck Bri and awesome video Marko!

I really do feel fortunate to have someone like Bri at the Sweat Shop! It isn’t always the case to have a dedicated CrossFit competitor that can remain positive, open to coaching, and also be so friendly and supportive to all other members of the gym. Thanks Bri, we’ll be cheering you on via the live stream this weekend!
