Big thanks to Rikus and Brandon who led me to this awesome documentary! If you’re into the nerdy science of athletic performance like me or just admire amazing athletic feats, be sure to watch this one! You always hear us referring to terms like aerobic capacity and building your engine. Well, these guys are the epitome of Prius power! National Geographic follows and films the journey of past long distance champions Eliud Kipchoge of Kenya, Lelisa Desisa of Ethiopia and Zersenay Tadese of Eritrea in an effort to try to beat the insane 2-hour marathon barrier with the newest technological advances.  The runners are joined in Italy by an elite group of physiologists and were outfitted with custom shoes from Nike, all to strive for perfect race-day conditions and performance. The journeys of the athletes, from being invited to join the team, to going through tests in sports science labs, and their day-to-day lives in eastern Africa, right through crossing the finish line are highlighted in the documentary. It’a super inspiring to see the power of human potential!

Really amazing video! Breaking this barrier of two hours is as much mental toughness as well as physical excellence.
