With the CrossFit Regionals kicking off this weekend and the Games invites official, I wanted to give a personal shout out and congrats to our ladies who will be representing the Sweat Shop on the big stage. As you all might know, Bri will be heading down next weekend to Del Mar for her FOURTH appearance (3rd in a row as an individual) competing in the now combined West Regional. Jacqueline punched her ticket to her FOURTH consecutive CrossFit Games in a new 55-59 division and Monique (50-54 division) earned her FIRST ever spot at the Games! Come August, both will be competing amongst the best in the world in Madison, WI! I’ve had the pleasure of coaching and programming for these three ladies over the past couple years and can’t say how proud I am of each of them. “Hard work” is an understatement of what they all put in this past year. While their physical achievements, PRs, and improvements in their weaknesses are worth noting itself, I’m most impressed with seeing how each of these ladies managed the stress of training and competition all year. Each had to make mini “comebacks” and faced several previous weaknesses head-on during the Open and Qualifiers and responded better and better the more the stakes got higher. While Bri, Mo, and Jacqueline far surpassed my expectations for this year, knowing their persistence and determination to be the best made their qualifying results not surprising. Congrats to you all and can’t wait to watch you compete!
