Right Now, Va De Vi is definitely my favorite restaurant in Walnut Creek. The flavors are rich and complex. Vanessa’s Bistro is another great restaurant. It’s French Vietnamese small plates. The small plates are rich but not too heavy, it’s easy to eat a lot of food at both of these places.
If You’re out in Lafayette and in the mood for a little gluten, go to Pizza Antica. It’s very thin crust pizza cooked by brick oven fire. They use fresh, local, seasonal ingredients and you can get sour power belt across the street at Powell’s candy shop.
Bryan and I also LOVE Va di Vi. We tend to go to Ruth’s Chris often… it’s easy, convenient and they have a good wine list. It’s also easier to get into if you forget to make a reservation at Va di Vi!
In downtown Danville, there’s a great place called Sideboard Cafe, they have good salads, the best burgers and an interesting and an always-changing, seasonally inspired menu based on locally grown and organic ingredients. Across the street from Sideboard is Mangia Mi… and while they have the traditional glutenous pizzas and pastas, there are also lots of good gluten free choices, too!
